Multi-Vendor Marketplace for D2C Brand
How we built a multi-vendor eCommerce platform that scaled to 50+ sellers without breaking
The Challenge & Bottlenecks
A D2C brand in the lifestyle category wanted to expand from selling their own products to hosting third-party sellers — creating a marketplace. Their existing Shopify setup couldn't handle multi-vendor flows, commission management, or separate seller dashboards. Manual order routing was creating daily errors.
What We Architected & Built
We built a custom WooCommerce-based multi-vendor marketplace with a dedicated seller portal, automated commission calculation, split payment processing, and a unified admin dashboard. The system handled inventory separately per vendor and automated order routing to the correct seller.
The Tangible Outcomes
The platform went live in 8 weeks. Within 6 months, the brand had onboarded 50+ sellers with zero manual order routing errors. Revenue from third-party sellers grew to 40% of total platform GMV.
